What is the Release Technique?
If you want to achieve whatever you want in life, the Release Technique as taught in The Abundance Book: Teaching The Amazing Release Technique or The Sedona Method: Your Key to Lasting Happiness, Success, Peace and Emotional Well-Being
can help you. Developed by Lester Levenson, this technique is a way to let go of unwanted feelings and remove resistance that blocks you from having what you want.
In 1952, after being sent home by his doctors to die, Lester realized two truths that literally saved his life. The first was that his own feelings were the cause of all his problems, and not the world or the people in it, as he had previously thought. He also realized his own feelings were what he had struggled so hard and long against. And this struggle was what had destroyed his health and caused him to suffer in every way.
The second truth he discovered was that he had the inborn ability to let go of his feelings. He discovered how to completely let go of them and their negative influences. Instead of suppressing, coping, and venting as he had previously done, he discovered how to totally release his feelings, which put an end to his struggle. He found permanent happiness. And, he found the more he released his feelings, the happier and healthier he became. In fact, within three months he was completely well, and he stayed well for over 40 more years!
What You Resist, Persists
When you think of a goal you want to achieve, do you notice feelings of resistance in your body? It could be fear, doubt, frustration, or anger. Any feeling that is not positive and empowering is a form of resistance.
Resistance stops the flow of energy. Resistance is the cause of stress. Resistance is like trying to drive with the brakes on.
When you remove resistance, you are able to move and you are able to do it faster. Free of resistance, it is possible to accomplish great things with ease and effortlessness. Without resistance, you are free to be, to do, and to have whatever you desire.
Want Equals Lack
When you create a goal, the conscious mind says “I want this.” But at the same time you send a message to your subconscious mind, “I lack this.” The feeling of lack creates the problems, and the feeling of lack ultimately prevents you from achieving your goals.
Setting goals the way you have always been taught sets you up for struggle and failure. The Release Technique teaches you how to achieve what you want with effortless ease.
The only thing preventing you from reaching a goal is resistance. Recognize there are no problems. There is only resistance. This can be a challenge for the mind to fully accept because it is the mind that creates resistance.
When you learn to release limiting feelings, you release problems, which frees up your energy, mentally, and physically.
Letting go of resistance so that you can get what you desire from life is what the Release Technique is all about.
Which Approach?
I have used the Release Technique in the form taught in both books and found them both helpful. The writers both studied directly with Lester Levenson. So which is better?
Ultimately, both approaches will help you release unwanted feelings, if you follow through. From my perspective, the approach in the The Abundance Book has more of a kinesthetic basis while the The Sedona Method
has a more analytical approach.
